Aamir Khan’s recently released ‘PK’ in China has added another feather to it’s cap. It is now the highest grossing Indian film in the overseas market. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#PK is UNSTOPPABLE in China. Total till Wed [3 June; 13th day]: ₹ 90.34 cr. Should cross ₹ 100 cr in Weekend 3. AWESOME."
Considering the fact that the Chinese film industry allows release of only 34 films per year, this collection has made PK to be one of the highest grossers in the Chinese Box Office. With ‘Avengers – The Age of Ultron’ to compete with, Anushka-Aamir starrer ‘PK’ has surpassed the other Indian films that released in China. ‘Dhoom 3’, which released last year in China, had made a collection of $3.17 million and before that ‘3 Idiots’ ruled the roost.
If you notice, Aamir Khan's films have been doing exceptionally good overseas. Even ‘Talaash’, which had an average opening in India, collected $6.81 million overseas. And a collection of $3.43 million in just two days shows a remarkable growth in Aamir’s overseas footprint.
